Fine Art Asia Shenzhen 2026 Unveils Exhibitor Line-up
Nearly 30 leading cultural organisations from around the world to gather in Shenzhen
Five leading antiques specialists join forces to present Antiques Reimagined, a special exhibition exploring the enduring appeal of collecting antiques
Founded in Hong Kong, the international fine art fair Fine Art Asia will make its Shenzhen debut from 26 to 29 November 2026 at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning (MoCAUP). Following the announcement of its inaugural Shenzhen edition in May, the fair now unveils its exhibitor line-up and details of a special exhibition. With exceptional antiques and works of art from East and West at its core, Fine Art Asia Shenzhen 2026 will also showcase modern and contemporary art, jewellery, timepieces and fine craftsmanship. Guided by the theme Antiques Reborn, the fair seeks to connect longstanding collecting traditions with contemporary sensibilities, exploring how antiques can find renewed relevance among a new generation of collectors and in everyday life.
Bringing Together International Expertise and Diverse Collecting Traditions
The inaugural edition will bring together nearly 30 distinguished art and antiques specialists from Hong Kong, Mainland China, the United Kingdom, France, the United States and South Korea. Drawing on expertise across a wide range of collecting fields, exhibitors will present a diverse selection of works, from historical objects and classical works of art to modern and contemporary art and fine craftsmanship, offering collectors and art enthusiasts opportunities for discovery and appreciation.
Participating antiques specialists include Rossi & Rossi, MD Flacks, Luohan Tang, Andy Hei Ltd., Wui Po Kok Antique Co. Ltd., Ever Arts Gallery, China Art Group Ltd., Da Guan Tang Antiques, Judetang Fine Arts Co., Lau & Fung Asian Art Gallery and Zan Patina, among others. Bringing together distinct areas of expertise and longstanding traditions of connoisseurship, these exhibitors will form the foundation of the fair’s antiques offering, fostering dialogue across different artistic and collecting traditions.
The exhibitor line-up also features Grotto Fine Art, The Gallery by SOIL, Culturecity Tongyeong, Tinny Art House, Galerie Makowski, JF Gallery and Meu Gallery, while Jiabao Pavilion Jewellery and Present × Deardia will further broaden the fair’s offering in jewellery, timepieces and fine craftsmanship.
A distinctive feature of this inaugural edition is the active participation of second- and third-generation antiques specialists. For these younger dealers, carrying on a family business means more than preserving a commercial legacy; it also involves passing down generations of connoisseurship, specialist knowledge and cultural understanding. At the same time, the evolving interests and tastes of emerging collectors are opening up new perspectives on antique collecting. By bringing together dealers and collectors across generations, Fine Art Asia Shenzhen 2026 celebrates the continuity of established traditions while embracing fresh approaches to collecting, reflecting the fair’s theme of Antiques Reborn.
Special Exhibition Antiques Reimagined: Rediscovering the Pleasure of Collecting
A highlight of Fine Art Asia Shenzhen 2026 is the special exhibition Antiques Reimagined, jointly curated and presented by five specialists from MD Flacks, Andy Hei Ltd., Wui Po Kok Antique Co. Ltd., Ever Arts Gallery and China Art Group Ltd. With Ming and Qing dynasty furniture as its central focus, the exhibition will also feature bamboo objects, scholars’ objects and other collectibles, original vintage film posters and contemporary artworks. Bringing together works from different periods and artistic disciplines, the five specialists seek to challenge the perception of antique collecting as an exclusively serious and formal pursuit. By revisiting the original purposes, aesthetic qualities and everyday uses of these objects, the exhibition invites visitors to rediscover the beauty, ingenuity and pleasure of collecting.
While connoisseurship, historical knowledge and questions of authenticity have long been central to antique collecting, many objects now treasured as works of art were once integral to everyday life. Furniture, bamboo objects and scholars’ implements accompanied activities such as incense appreciation, tea drinking, calligraphy, painting and scholarly gatherings. Their craftsmanship, historical allusions and playful symbolism reflect the aesthetic tastes and cultural memories of their time. Antiques Reimagined invites visitors to look beyond the historical and artistic value of these objects and rediscover the personal connections they can inspire, presenting collecting not merely as an act of ownership, but as a source of aesthetic pleasure, enjoyment and shared experience.
Strengthening Hong Kong–Shenzhen Ties and Fostering Cross-border Collaboration
Fine Art Asia Shenzhen 2026 has received strong support from the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports and is being developed in partnership with Zhaoyueming Culture Investment Consulting (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. The two parties signed a project cooperation agreement during the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) in May 2026, laying the groundwork for the fair’s inaugural Shenzhen edition.
Building on Hong Kong’s established international art trading network and Shenzhen’s growing cultural landscape and emerging collector base, Fine Art Asia Shenzhen 2026 aims to strengthen ties between the two cities and create new opportunities for art and antiques dealers, galleries and collectors from Mainland China and overseas. Taking place in the same month as the 2026 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, which Shenzhen will host on 18–19 November, the fair also coincides with a period of heightened international attention on the city.
To facilitate the cross-border movement of artworks, the fair plans to introduce a Bonded Green Channel, drawing on Shenzhen’s bonded warehousing facilities and relevant policies to streamline logistical arrangements for artworks arriving from overseas. The proposed mechanism is intended to facilitate the display of artworks in Shenzhen while supporting business discussions and transaction arrangements in Hong Kong, capitalising on the complementary strengths of the two markets.
Fine Art Asia Shenzhen 2026 will open with a VIP Preview on 26 November, followed by public opening days from 27 to 29 November. Further details of exhibition highlights and special programmes will be announced in due course.
