Established for over two decades, Luohan Tang specialises in Chinese furniture, architectural pieces, and scholarly objects, with a particular focus on strange rocks suitable for display in studios or gardens. The founder, Laurent Colson, has been dedicated to finding ways to integrate these vernacular objects into modern living environments. Originally an engineer in the high-tech and space industry, Colson developed a profound interest in Chinese furniture while living in China. This led him to establish the gallery with the aim of incorporating Chinese works into contemporary art, believing it to be a means of revitalising Western art. Colson has published articles on the subject and regularly delivers speeches about craftsmanship in both France and Asia.
