    Fine Art Asia 2025
Celebrates Two Decades with Two Transformative Exhibition Highlights

Established in 2006, Fine Art Asia is proud to celebrate its 20th edition this year. The highly anticipated fair will take place at Hall 1DE of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Saturday, 4 October, to Tuesday, 7 October 2025, with an exclusive VIP Preview on Friday, 3 October. As Fine Art Asia enters its 20th anniversary, it marks a significant milestone in its journey. In response to the rapidly evolving art market and its challenges, Fine Art Asia has consistently aimed to provide a dynamic platform that promotes cultural exchange between the East and West. Alongside its regular exhibition categories — antiques, modern and contemporary art — the fair is thrilled to introduce two innovative exhibition sections this year, designed to engage both emerging and established collectors.

    Craft Now
“Craft Now” aims to promote contemporary craftsmanship, showcasing how Asian artists utilise innovative thinking and creativity to master Eastern techniques. The exhibition features a diverse array of works that integrate elements of art, craftsmanship, and design, all holding significant collectable value.

This exhibition brings together outstanding galleries from Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan, and Korea, representing exceptional creators from Asia. Many of these artists have received international awards and have their works permanently acquired by international museums, with some recognised as national intangible cultural heritage, including talents from Hong Kong.

The themed exhibition will cover a variety of media, including contemporary lacquer art, ceramics, bamboo weaving, woodworking, metalwork, paper, and textiles. It aims to present a perfect fusion of
Eastern aesthetics and modern creativity, attracting emerging collectors to deepen their understanding and appreciation of contemporary Asian crafts.

Additionally, the exhibition will host a series of lectures and workshops that explore the significance of craftsmanship in artistic expression, emphasising its diversity. Artists will share their creative journeys, fostering dialogue and interaction with the audience.

    Back on Paper

Fine Art Asia is also thrilled to introduce the new “Back on Paper” section, which will showcase a captivating array of artworks created on paper, including drawings, prints, and multiples. This section emphasises paper as the canvas for inception, where artistic ideas are born and transformed into visual narratives.

The “Back on Paper” collection highlights the creative processes and studies of renowned artists, offering collectors a unique glimpse into their thoughts and experimentation. Visitors will find affordable masterpieces from both Western and Eastern artists, making it possible for enthusiasts and collectors to acquire exceptional works that embody artistry and innovation. This thoughtfully curated pavilion will feature a diverse selection of contemporary and historical pieces, inviting deeper engagement with this fundamental medium.

A selection of 30 to 50 exceptional pieces will be showcased, including master sketches, prints, watercolours, and early European etchings by renowned artists such as Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528),
    Claude Monet (1840-1926), Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919), Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), Marc Chagall (1887-1985), and Zao Wou-Ki (1920-2013).

Mr Andy Hei, Founder and Co-Chairman of Fine Art Asia, stated,
“The development of Fine Art Asia has reached a critical moment. As we face the collectors of a new era, the operation of the fair must transform and look forward. Therefore, we are excited to introduce two key projects this year — ‘Craft Now’ and ‘Back on Paper’— as pilot initiatives and future development directions.”

The “Craft Now Pavilion” will be curated by Contemporary Craft Centre, while “Back on Paper” will be curated independent curator, Ms Li Yi Cheng. Join us in celebrating two decades of Fine Art Asia as we elevate the appreciation of art and foster connections within the global art community.
