Fine Art Asia 2024, the Asia’s leading fine art fair showcasing exquisite collectibles, is returning to Hong Kong this fall. The fair is going to take place at Hall 1C, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, from Friday 4 to Monday 7 October, 2024, with a VIP Preview on Thursday 3 October.
Successfully entering its 19th edition, Fine Art Asia has been striving to provide a vibrant platform and support cultural exchange in the arts between the East and the West. To continue the success of INK ASIA 2023, Fine Art Asia 2024 will further introduce a dedicated sector with a specific focus on ink art. It aims to expand the vision and boundaries of contemporary ink art while promoting the traditional culture through an innovative perspective. The fair also takes a major role in promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage, shedding light on the spirit of craftsmanship and cultural significances. Another highlight of the fair includes the debut of “Collectible Design – Asia Edition Pavilion”, showcasing a selection of outstanding collectible design items from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and other Asian cities. It aims to celebrate the magnificent blend of great design minds of designers and exquisite skills of artisans, exemplifying the perfect marriage of design and art in a contemporary context and reflecting relevant cultures.

Special Exhibitions
“Timeless Echoes”
Fine Art Asia 2024 is delighted to present the specially curated exhibition “Timeless Echoes”. Countless encounters occur throughout our lifetimes. We currently exist in a time when tradition and modernity coexist, aligning with the fair’s core purpose. The fair attracts antique and contemporary collectables worldwide, creating a dynamic convergence of the old and the new, inviting audiences to experience a harmonious integration of the past and present.
This special exhibition aims to build upon this concept. This exhibition seeks to present organic, resonant creations through in-depth research and the selection of artworks that embody the interplay of forms and spirits, evoking a sense of artistic lineage and heritage. These works may be antiques with contemporary elements incorporated, or contemporary pieces featuring traditional motifs or craftsmanship. Through this experimental approach, we hope to imbue Fine Art Asia 2024 with a distinctive character and a sense of timeless artistry.
“Immersive World”
Fine Art Asia has been recognised as the Asia’s leading fine art fair to present masterpieces ranging from exquisite antiques and works of art to modern and contemporary art. We are also committed to nurturing emerging young artists, offering an international platform to shine and be recognised. Curated by the seasoned scholar and veteran curator Mr Eric Leung, the “Ink +” project will invite young talents from Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. The exhibition, namely “Immersive World”, features a wide variety of artworks that employ new media and different materials, offering new interpretation to traditional ink painting.
“A Tribute to Fang Zhaoling”
In the eighth edition of their annual “Tribute Series”, The Ink Society presents “A Tribute to Fang Zhaoling” at Fine Art Asia 2024 to honour the legacy of a singular female painter in the history of modern Chinese art. A native of Wuxi, Fang Zhaoling (1914-2006) learnt from masters Qian Songyan and Chen Jiucun in her teenage years, and later followed the Lingnan School before becoming a sworn disciple of modern pioneer Zhang Daqian. Well-versed in ancient Chinese literature, calligraphy and painting, Fang also embraced new ideas from studying in the West and her expansive travels to develop an original style that preserved the spirit of ink and brush while responding to the tides of time. With a selection spanning the 1950s to 1990s, the exhibition surveys Fang’s defining artistic phases in her prolific career.

Mr Andy Hei, Founder and Co-Chairman of Fine Art Asia, said,
“We are happy to see that Fine Art Asia is bringing in new elements and perspectives to the industry, corresponding to the growing trend of cross-collecting and mixed display of ancient antiques alongside contemporary paintings and sculptures. While the global economy continues to gradually recover, businesses in the art market still face considerable challenges. This becomes a crucial turning point for the industry, which is why we have introduced collectible design. This could be a valuable attempt to showcase outstanding design objects from Hong Kong and cities across Asia, while also offering collectors the opportunity to expand their investment horizons.”
Dr Grace Lau, Curatorial Director of Fine Art Asia, said,
“Fine Art Asia 2024 is going to present a new horizon by including a Collectible Design Pavilion that showcases a selection of collectible designs from Hong Kong, Mainland China and cities around Asia. It is our aim to bring a new energy to Hong Kong art and cultural scene by paying homage to designers and artisans and epitomising on the idea of how collectible design can create a new playground for them to work together. A very warm welcome to collectors and connoisseurs of fine taste to come and share our vision of a broader art and collectibles market.”
