Fine Art Asia 2013 is pleased to announce that Hong Kong Cancer Fund will be the beneficiary of the fair for the third consecutive year.
Hong Kong Cancer Fund, which offers art therapy as part of its emotional and spiritual support services to those touched by cancer, has a strong belief in the importance of art to convey emotions and bring people together. In 2012 Hong Kong Cancer Fund celebrated its 25th Anniversary of providing free information, professional guidance and peer support to anyone living with, or affected by cancer.
At Fine Art Asia 2012, Hong Kong Cancer Fund presented an exhibition entitled ˇ§Connectˇ¨, featuring the works of a group of selected contemporary artists. Employing a variety of different media, the artists explored the links between love, care and humanity. A charity auction was held of the works on display, with proceeds donated to Hong Kong Cancer Fundˇ¦s free services, in particular their peer support network that unites all those touched by cancer.
The previous year, Hong Kong Cancer Fundˇ¦s booth at Fine Art Asia 2011 featured the exhibition ˇ§Visionˇ¨ which brought together the work of 20 contemporary Hong Kong artists. Each expressed his or her own unique vision towards life, culture and human existence. Proceeds of the charity auction that year were donated to Hong Kong Cancer Fundˇ¦s breast cancer support services.
Hong Kong Cancer Fund, which champions the importance of community, believes the creation of art is not only a powerful medium to express emotions, it also has the power to heal.
